Concert: Guatemala - Our homeland will Flourish
Enjoy a beautiful evening of Latin American music performed by the Students of the University of San Carlos on tour from Guatemala. 13 musicians play their mandolins, guitars, marimba and percussion instruments entertaining audiences on national and international tours. Sat Mar 7 2015 Silent Auction opens at 5pm, Dinner at 6pm then Special Presentation
Special guest speaker Magellan is a human rights defender from the Congo who risked everything to help his neighbours and narrowly escaped with his life. Now even though it is not yet safe yet for him to return, he is helping from Ottawa by creating a charity to raise money and organize through his family and contacts in the Congo to build a self-sustaining orphanage and a community school while also supporting a new group of human rights defenders whose work is needed there. Listen to the amazing work he has already done and the hope he has for the future…
